Russian \u2060foreign \u2060ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova \u2060said on Thursday that Russia could strike British military targets inside and outside Ukraine \u200cin response to Ukrainian strikes on Russia using British missiles.<\/p>\n
Zakharova called on Britain to back off what she called London\u2019s hostile \u2060stance on Ukraine, which she said \u200crisked taking the conflict to an entirely new level.<\/p>\n
She \u200chad told the same Moscow \u2060news \u2060briefing earlier that Britain and France were \u201cplaying with \u200cfire\u201d by supplying sensitive missile technology to Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Britain \u200cannounced on \u200cMonday it would allow \u200cKyiv access to classified technology to \u2060start its own production of Storm Shadow \u2060long-range cruise missiles, capable of carrying out strikes deep within \u200cRussia. France \u200chas already given its assent to licence the technology for the European missile.<\/p>\n
Also on Thursday, the \u2060Kremlin \u2060dismissed US media reports that Russia could attack a Nato member state and that the \u200cpurpose of US CIA Director John Ratcliffe\u2019s visit to Moscow this week had been to warn Russia against such a move.<\/p>\n
