{"id":36925,"date":"2026-09-03T16:40:30","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T16:40:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/36925\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T16:40:30","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T16:40:30","slug":"bangkok-post-ukraine-india-discuss-black-sea-food-security-on-fms-historic-kyiv-visit-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/36925\/","title":{"rendered":"Bangkok Post &#8211; Ukraine, India discuss Black Sea, food security on FM&#8217;s &#8216;historic&#8217; Kyiv visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PUBLISHED : 3 Sep 2026 at 21:45<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1788453630_649_c1_6214408.jpg\"   alt=\"In Kyiv Jaishankar (L) said 'Every passing day of conflict only means more deaths and more destruction'\" class=\"img-fluid\" loading=\"eager\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn Kyiv Jaishankar (L) said &#8216;Every passing day of conflict only means more deaths and more destruction&#8217;\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>KYIV (UKRAINE) &#8211; Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar arrived in Kyiv on Thursday to discuss shipping in the Black Sea and food security, Ukraine&#8217;s authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>Kyiv hailed the visit, Jaishankar&#8217;s first standalone trip to Ukraine, as &#8220;historic&#8221; and called for a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>It follows a meeting earlier this week between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s invasion of Ukraine has killed thousands of civilians and turned into Europe&#8217;s deadliest conflict since World War II.<\/p>\n<p>Moscow has also hampered exports of Ukrainian food products through a campaign of port and ship strikes on the Black Sea.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are grateful to India for its commitment to ending this unjust war,&#8221; Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media after meeting Jaishankar.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We discussed the situation in the Black Sea, including the existing threats to civilian shipping,&#8221; Zelensky said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is absolutely unacceptable to block food supplies to regions where this is a highly sensitive issue and where people depend on these maritime routes,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Jaishankar told reporters in Kyiv: &#8220;Every passing day of conflict only means more deaths and more destruction.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Understandably, it is for the parties involved to find a way. But if India can be of any help in any manner, we are ready.
