Ukraine\u2019s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0Telegram that he\u00a0had submitted his resignation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was a\u00a0deliberate political decision. I\u00a0don\u2019t want the role of\u00a0prosecutor general used as\u00a0a\u00a0tool in\u00a0a\u00a0political conflict. My\u00a0position on\u00a0the allegations has not changed,\u201d Kravchenko said.<\/p>\n

Last week, Ukraine\u2019s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) searched the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office. Serhiy Kropyva, deputy head of\u00a0the office\u2019s International Cooperation Department, was\u00a0accused<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0running a\u00a0network that \u201cprovided cover for\u201d fraudulent call centers. He\u00a0was detained.<\/p>\n

Kravchenko had previously\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0he\u00a0did not plan to\u00a0resign over Kropyva\u2019s detention: \u201cI\u00a0don\u2019t feel I\u00a0should do\u00a0that. There\u2019s a\u00a0procedure: the Verkhovna Rada can vote, and the president can initiate the resignation. If\u00a0they do\u00a0so, I\u00a0will, of\u00a0course, comply.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kravchenko had served as\u00a0Ukraine\u2019s prosecutor general since June 2025.<\/p>\n
