Ukraine launched a drone attack that struck an apartment building and killed a Russian civilian, according to the region\u2019s governor. Russian forces also carried out an airstrike that officials said killed two Ukrainians. The renewed fighting followed a weekend of diplomatic efforts involving U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.<\/p>\n
The two met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow before traveling to Kyiv for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.<\/p>\n
NBC News Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel questioned Kushner about the prospects for the latest round of negotiations as fighting continues.<\/p>\n
Kushner acknowledged the difficulty of the conflicts the administration is attempting to address and said the U.S. delegation remains committed to its diplomatic efforts. A limited ceasefire was in effect during the diplomatic visit, according to Engel, but it has since ended.<\/p>\n
Air raid sirens could again be heard in Kyiv, with residents returning to subway stations for shelter as the attacks resumed.\t<\/p>\n
