{"id":3956,"date":"2026-06-10T14:25:16","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T14:25:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/3956\/"},"modified":"2026-06-10T14:25:16","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T14:25:16","slug":"ukrainian-strikes-hit-arms-factory-and-oil-refinery-deep-inside-russia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/3956\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukrainian strikes hit arms factory and oil refinery deep inside Russia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"aiir-c-news-article__abstract\">\n            Ukraine says an arms factory and an oil refinery deep inside Russia are among the targets it has hit in a fresh wave of attacks.\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"first\">But Russian drone attacks on Ukraine had left one person dead and more than a dozen people injured, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed Ukraine had hit the military plant on Tuesday night in the western Russian city of Cheboksary &#8211; in the region of Chuvashiya &#8211; with Ukrainian-made Flamingo cruise missiles.<\/p>\n<p>He said the factory, more than 550 miles behind the front line, supplied components for Russian drones and missiles.<\/p>\n<p>Forces had also targeted an oil refinery in Samara, in the southwestern part of Russia, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Samara governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said that several industrial plants were damaged by drone strikes and three people were injured.<\/p>\n<p>Oleg Nikolayev, the head of Chuvashiya, confirmed the missile attack in Chuvashiya without giving any further details.<\/p>\n<p>The Astra online news outlet said the Ukrainian strike had hit the military complex, which it reported produces antennas for drones.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s defence ministry said its forces had managed to intercept 326 Ukrainian drones overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s military said on Wednesday it had also struck the West Horizon tanker in the Black Sea, which it described as being a part of the Russian &#8220;shadow fleet&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It comes after Ukraine had revealed a drone attack had targeted the \u200cRussian-occupied port of Mariupol, leaving the site with limited capacity.<\/p>\n<p>Kyiv&#8217;s \u200cdrone forces said the port \u200cwas without power after strikes on its energy, \u2060repair and \u200bmanagement infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Ukraine added the \u200battack had &#8220;significantly limited&#8221; Mariupol&#8217;s \u2060use as \u2060a military logistics \u200bhub by the Russians.<\/p>\n<p>Mariupol is a strategically important port city on the Sea of Azov, in the southeast of Ukraine, and was secured by Russian forces in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The port was used \u200cby the enemy for military logistics, as well as the illegal export of \u200cUkrainian grain, coal and metal to Russia,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>Inside Putin&#8217;s Russia: Is the Kremlin getting nervous?<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian drones also hit a historic museum in Sevastopol in Crimea, according to officials.<\/p>\n<p>The museum commemorates the 1853-1856 Crimean War between the Russian Empire and a coalition \u200bthat included the Ottoman Empire.<\/p>\n<p>Sevastopol&#8217;s Russian-installed \u200cgovernor, Mikhail Razvozhayev, said the museum&#8217;s roof had caught fire and called the attack &#8220;sacrilege&#8221;.
