According to him, Ukraine may not be doing anything fundamentally new — it is continuing the same struggle it has carried on for years — but the world is now beginning to notice the results much more clearly.

Warburg says Ukraine has achieved several major successes, forcing even those who previously paid little attention to recognize the country’s military resilience and strategic capability. In his view, there is now a growing consensus that the momentum is shifting in Ukraine’s favor and that Russia is no longer seen as capable of achieving a decisive victory.

He notes that this change in tone is not coming only from Ukrainian officials or pro-Ukraine commentators. Even in the United States, he says, the language has shifted. The Trump administration, which previously suggested that President Volodymyr Zelensky had little leverage and should accept peace on Moscow’s terms, is now speaking more positively about Ukraine’s performance on the battlefield.

For Warburg, however, the most striking signal comes not from Washington, but from Minsk.

He points to the recent behavior of Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, describing it as nervous, erratic and increasingly difficult to explain unless viewed through one lens: Lukashenko may be preparing for the possibility that Russia loses the war.

According to Warburg, Lukashenko understands that his own political survival has long depended on Moscow. If Russia weakens or suffers defeat, Belarus could find itself exposed and vulnerable. That, he argues, explains why Lukashenko now appears to be hedging his bets — trying to open channels with the outside world and protect Belarus from the consequences of Russia’s failure.

Warburg’s central point is that the war in Ukraine is no longer changing only the battlefield. It is changing political calculations across the entire region. When even Putin’s closest allies begin acting as if a Russian defeat is possible, it becomes a powerful sign that the balance of confidence has shifted.

In his view, Ukraine’s strength is no longer being underestimated in the same way. Russia may still possess enormous resources, but the belief that Moscow can simply outlast Kyiv is beginning to crack. And that shift in perception may become one of the most important developments of the war.

News.Az

       By Ulviyya Salmanli

Credit: Youtube/Paul Warburg In his latest video commentary on his YouTube channel, political expert Paul Warburg argues that…

[3
47,2701,414,25,26,35,314
post-9343","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","tag-belarus","tag-lukashenko","tag-putin","tag-russia","tag-ukraine","tag-volodymyr-zelensky","tag-war
["GET
