Some areas, including Gilbert and Tempe, received more than an inch of rain Wednesday. Cooler-than-normal temperatures linger Friday, with highs near 100 degrees. Drier and hotter weather takes over this weekend, with highs near 105 Saturday and 108 Sunday. An Extreme Heat Watch is posted for Maricopa and Pinal counties as temperatures could climb above 110 degrees Monday through Wednesday, with overnight lows in the 90s.
