While the WTA Eastbourne draw is nowhere near as stacked as that of Bad Homburg, it still features a strong field that promises plenty of excitement throughout the week as players try to find their top form ahead of Wimbledon. Day 2, in particular, should feature close, high-quality matches and some notable players, such as former US Open champion Emma Raducanu and the defending Wimbledon champion, Barbora Krejcikova. But who will advance?
WTA Eastbourne Day 2 Predictions
Harriet Dart vs Barbora Krejcikova
Head-to-head: Krejcikova 1-0 Dart
Under normal circumstances, Krejcikova would be a clear favorite in this matchup, after all, she is the defending Wimbledon champion facing an opponent ranked outside the top 100. However, she has been struggling with an injury this season, and this will only be her fifth match of 2025. Given the circumstances, she is unlikely to mount a serious challenge to defend her Wimbledon title, but she should still find a way to get past Dart at WTA Eastbourne.
Prediction: Krejcikova in 3
Mingge Xu vs Peyton Stearns
Head-to-head: first meeting
Stearns is the better player in general, ranked almost 300 spots higher, but she is making her 2025 debut on grass, while Xu has played extensively on it, which makes the matchup closer than it would be under normal circumstances. Xu might well get off to a fast start here, even if Stearns’s superior quality eventually comes out on top.
Prediction: Stearns in 3
Emma Raducanu vs Ann Li
Head-to-head: first meeting
While she hasn’t even come close to replicating her 2021 US Open glory, Raducanu appears to be finally achieving consistent results and steadily climbing the rankings, closing in on the top 30. She will certainly have big expectations for her home Grand Slam at Wimbledon and will be looking to pick up form and momentum this week. On paper, she got a kind draw and should be able to overcome Li at WTA Eastbourne.
Prediction: Raducanu in 2
