A man is dead, and a woman remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a crash involving a car and a motorcycle early Saturday morning in west Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Phoenix police said officers responded around 1:43 a.m. to a two-vehicle collision near 51st Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.
When the Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene, they found a crash involving a car and a motorcycle with three people affected.
There is a hard closure at the intersection of 51st Avenue and Watkins Street. Please avoid the area while detectives continue to investigate the collision.
Police said a man died and a woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. A fire official said an additional man was evaluated but refused hospitalization.
Detectives with the Phoenix Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Unit responded to investigate the collision. The circumstances leading up to the crash have not been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
