A woman has died, and three others remain hospitalized after a rollover crash early Saturday morning in north Phoenix that police say is connected to an earlier call involving a person with a gun.

Around 3 a.m., Phoenix police responded to reports of a person with a gun near 19th and Peoria avenues. According to investigators, the vehicle involved in that incident fled the area and was later involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash near 7th and Dunlap avenues.

Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to the crash and found four people who had been ejected from the vehicle. Fire officials said all four patients were transported to local hospitals in critical or extremely critical condition.

Police said the occupants included two adult men and two adult women. One of the women later died from her injuries.

The crash has prompted road closures along Dunlap Avenue between 7th and Central avenues while investigators process the scene. Please find an alternate route.

Detectives with the Phoenix Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Unit have taken over the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Phoenix police or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
