HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – One person was killed and three others were hospitalized after a four-vehicle crash Friday evening in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 (East Freeway) near Freeport Street, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash happened around 6:07 p.m. and involved a Honda sedan, Hyundai sedan, BMW SUV and a heavy hauler parked for road construction. The passenger vehicles collided before leaving the main lanes and entering the service road.
The Honda overturned, and its driver was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Two occupants of the Hyundai—including the driver—were hospitalized in critical but stable condition. A third Hyundai occupant died after the vehicle hit the parked construction truck.
All those involved were adults. Authorities said intoxication was not suspected, and the drivers cooperated with the investigation.
