LOS ANGELES — Amidst land artist Lita Albuquerque’s fellowship with High Desert Test Sites, she will join a public conversation about her work at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Albuquerque’s discussion with curator Grant Klarich Johnson will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at MOCA Grand Avenue at 250 S. Grand Ave., Los Angeles.
Albuquerque’s work addresses humanity’s place within infinite space and eternal time, MOCA says.
Her practice has shaped dialogs around land, perception and the limits of human understanding for over five decades. Throughout 2026, she has been in residence at High Desert Test Sites in Joshua Tree, developing a new site-specific work.
The work Albuquerque has created during her fellowship will open to the public Saturday, Nov. 14, at A-Z West at 62923 Sullivan Road in Joshua Tree.
