PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Dozens of people were left without a place to sleep after a fire broke out at a hotel in north Phoenix early Sunday morning.
Around 3 a.m., first responders were called to a reported fire at the Travelodge by Wyndham hotel near 25th Avenue and Greenway Road.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the second story of the hotel, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. Crews rushed into the building, evacuated all residents, then used fire hoses to battle the blaze.

More than 50 units were affected, and about 30 people will be displaced, fire officials said.
Due to the size of the fire, it was upgraded to a second-alarm response, bringing in additional firefighters beyond a standard call.
Community Assistance Program personnel and hotel management are working with displaced residents to help address their needs.
No injuries were reported. Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
