A 29-year-old man died and another was injured after a shooting that followed an argument Saturday afternoon in eastern Fort Worth.

According to a statement from Fort Worth Police Department spokesman Buddy Calzada, officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 3:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of Misty Glen Court.

Once there, officers learned that the man who lived at the location had arrived home and saw another man, identified as Darius Levy, on the property. The two men began to argue and both exchanged gunfire, Calzada said.

The homeowner was transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds in an unknown condition, Calzada said. Levy died at the scene at 4 p.m., according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

It remains unclear if charges have been filed in connection with the shooting.

Calzada said investigators believe one of the individuals who lived at the house had an active protective order against Levy at the time of the shooting.

Police ask that anyone who witnessed the shooting contact Fort Worth police at 817-392-4222.
