Ahead of adding edge rusher Von Miller to the roster, the Dallas Cowboys on Monday released wide receiver Traeshon Holden, a person familiar with the transaction told The Dallas Morning News.
Holden joined the Cowboys last season as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon. He impressed in training camp last year before spending all of last season on the Cowboys’ practice squad.
However, he muffed a punt in Dallas’ last preseason game against the Seahawks, hurting his chances to maintain a spot in the crowded Cowboys’ wide receiver room.
Miller, a DeSoto High School and Texas A&M alumnus, agreed to terms with his hometown team over the weekend.
