EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The annual We Care Backpack Giveaway was held Monday night at the Phoenix Park farmer’s market.
Families with children in the Eau Claire Area School District were able to get a free backpack with school supplies.
Feed My People was also there providing food certificates for families.
‘We Care Eau Claire’ hosted the giveaway hoping to help support families in the district.
“My family is a family with four children and I know firsthand that it’s hard to provide clothes and backpacks and school supplies and all of the above. It’s important to start that year off, and ‘I’m gonna have a fresh start, I’m gonna make an impact and I’m gonna into the world and make it better.’ I wanna provide resources to all those families,” said Jordan Van Proosdy, the Board Chair of We Care Eau Claire.
