All westbound lanes of State Highway 121 are shut down following a wrong-way collision early Tuesday morning in Fort Worth.
The collision happened around 1:20 a.m., according to the Texas Department of Transportation traffic tracker.
A lone driver in a Jeep traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of SH 121 near North Riverside Drive collided with two separate vehicles as it continued driving in the wrong direction, the Fort Worth Police Department said in a news release.
The Jeep struck a vehicle with three passengers that was attempting to move out of the way. None of the occupants of that vehicle reported major injuries. The Jeep continued the wrong way and had a head on collision with a sedan with four occupants, including one child.
The driver of the Jeep and two adults from the sedan were pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the sedan and the child were transported to local hospitals and are expected to survive, according to the news release.
Officials did not say when roads will reopen. Traffic is being diverted to the service road near the Fairview exit, according to TxDOT cameras.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
