NuLu gets a taste of New York as Magnolia Bakery opens
LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A popular New York bakery is officially ready for business in Louisville.
Magnolia Bakery opened its NuLu location on Tuesday, adding to the areas budding foodie scene.
It is on East Market Street near Sake A Go Go, Muth’s Candies and Louisville Cream.
The bakery is known for its famous banana pudding, cupcakes, cookies and other homemade treats.
It gained a following after appearing in an episode of “Sex and the City,” specifically when Carrie Bradshaw famously declared she was over Big whilst eating a cupcake.
Since then, it has expanded to several major cities like Chicago and Los Angeles.
Louisville is the second franchise store.
Magnolia Bakery is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. It’s open until 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
