A popular Chicago museum has announced it will close its doors for good next month.
The WNDR museum revealed on social media this week that both of its U.S. locations will close within the coming weeks.
“Since opening in Chicago in 2018 and Boston in 2022, we’ve had the incredible privilege of welcoming thousands of guests into spaces brought to life by artists, creators, and our amazing part-time teams,” the museum wrote on social media in a post titled “The Final Chapter.” “To every guest who visited, every artist who shared their work, and every team member who helped make WNDR what it was — thank you. You made these spaces more than museums. You made them places to play, wonder, connect, and create memories.”
The museum said its Chicago location will close for good on Sept. 7, while Boston will close on Aug. 30.
“If WNDR has ever made you smile, sparked your curiosity, or given you a memory you’ll carry with you, this is your last chance to come experience it,” the group wrote.
No reason for the closure was given.
