During my lunch breaks, I often take quick visits to Fort Worth’s renowned museums and art galleries. It helps keep me grounded in Cowtown’s cultural happenings.
Last Friday, I drove to Sundance Square’s Caravan of Dreams and explored stories stitched together in the gallery’s latest exhibition, “Merging Threads.”
The show brings together San Francisco-based Arleene Correa Valencia and Dallas’ Antonio Lechuga, known for their artworks made of fleece blankets and thread. Lechuga especially has made a name for himself in North Texas since rebuilding his practice after being shot in 2022.

Explore how artists stitch their stories into art
Curated by Fort Worth artist Maggie Adler, the exhibition explores themes of pride, grief and celebration. An opening reception is planned for 5 p.m. Sept. 19. The show is on view through Nov. 8.

Hold your breath as acrobats take to the sky
The two-hour live show features high-flying trapeze, a moving human pyramid and high-speed bicycle troupes performing professional stunts. Tickets for children between 2-12 are $15.

Listen to interwoven melodies from Fort Worth’s classical musicians
Some principal and assistant principal players from the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra shine under the spotlight to perform some challenging and extravagant symphonic repertoire. The concert is led by conductor Alex Amsel.

Drive back in time for a world of throwback music
Every Saturday, enjoy some of the biggest pop music hits while you explore more than 200 cars and 3,000 toys at the north Fort Worth museum.
