CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Chamberlain University opened a new campus at the Tower at Kenwood, giving nursing students a facility for hands-on training.
The campus is Chamberlain University’s 25th location.
Regional need cited
University leaders said the need for health care workers is significant. They said the region has roughly 50,000 health care job openings a year, and only about one health care graduate for every five or six of those openings.
“So we chose to come to the Cincinnati region because the healthcare needs in this part of Ohio are significant,” said Amelia Manning, president of Chamberlain University. “And that’s really where Chamberlain comes in. Our focus is in nursing education, pre-licensure, BSN nursing.”
Hamilton County Commissioner Denise Driehaus said the shortage is not new.
“We have suffered from a shortage of nurses really since COVID,” Driehaus said. “And so Chamberlain University opening up here — we’re thrilled to have them coming to Cincinnati.”

Chamberlain’s BSN program is designed to get students into scrubs faster, running three years, year-round, from start to finish.
“It is an intense, accelerated program,” Manning said. “But again, they’re getting support all along the way … to become a nurse faster.”
Scholarship surprise
With help from social media influencer “MD Motivator,” organizers surprised aspiring nurse Damenika with a full-ride Future Healthcare Hero BSN Scholarship, covering her entire path through Chamberlain’s Cincinnati campus.
