One person died after a tour bus caught fire on the 60 Freeway near Hacienda Heights on Friday morning, according to authorities.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department got a call about a traffic collision with fire around 5:39 a.m. near the eastbound 60 Freeway west of Azusa Avenue, KTLA reported.
Fire officials said they believe the fire started in the engine area and crews found cargo and propane tanks inside and underneath the tour bus, according to KTLA. Authorities did not say where the bus trip originated or where it was going.
One person was found dead while firefighters were searching the bus, officials said. The identity of the victim was not released.
The Los Angels County Fire Department didn’t immediately respond to a request for more information.
A SigAlert was issued in Glendale from westbound State Route 134 to northbound I-5 because of a traffic crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.
