A suspect was taken into custody in connection with a hit-and-run crash that injured a father and daughter riding electric bicycles in Lancaster on Friday, authorities said.

The incident happened near the 2300 block of West Avenue J-8 around 2:45 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Officials say the father and daughter were riding their e-bikes when they were struck by a car. Both of them had minor injuries, the LASD said.

The driver took off, but the sheriff’s department had the license plate of the vehicle involved and was able to find the suspect and take them into custody. No other details about the suspect were provided.
