Texicare, a health insurance company marketed toward local businesses, expanded its network in San Antonio as part of a new agreement with CHRISTUS Health.
Local businesses who rely on Texicare will now have access to the hospital system’s 29 clinic locations across Bexar and Comal counties. This includes primary care, emergency services, cardiology, orthopedics, neuroscience, pediatrics and women’s health care.
Texicare, the health affiliate of Austin-based insurance company Texas Mutual, first expanded to San Antonio in 2025. Texicare President and CEO Meredith Duncan said that San Antonio is one of the most active business markets in Texas.
“Many of those business owners struggle with accessing healthcare coverage, either because it’s too expensive or difficult to use,” she said. “We saw a clear opportunity to bring plans built specifically for Texas businesses to the owners and employees here who needed them.”
Texicare businesses can access CHRISTUS health services, a Catholic not-for-profit health system with international reach and more than 60 hospitals in Texas,
through three different health plans.
“Working with Texicare extends [our] reach to business employees across the city, connecting more San Antonio families to the care and providers they can trust,” said Chris Glenney, senior vice president and chief operating officer for U.S. Ministries at CHRISTUS Health.
