“In July 2025, Ganna Kovrizhnykh (Pronounced Kov-riz-nick), a Ukrainian citizen, was reported missing by family members after her car and trailer were found abandoned on private property in Potrero,” Sgt. Jacob Klepach of the SDSO’s missing persons and cold case team said in a statement released Friday.
“The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive investigation, exhausting all leads,” Klepach said. “Sheriff’s investigators believed Kovrizhnykh likely had voluntarily crossed into Mexico.”
On Aug. 7 of this year, sheriff’s investigators were able to establish contact with Kovrizhnykh and verified her identity. She is believed to be staying in Sinaloa, Mexico, according to the SDSO.
The Sheriff’s Office has notified the Ukrainian Embassy of Kovrizhnykh’s whereabouts.
