Members of popular early 2000s rock band unharmed after tour bus involved in fatal I-26 crash
A popular early 2000s rock band’s tour bus was involved in a deadly crash on I-26 Friday morning.
Buckcherry, formed in 1995, surged into the mainstream with the release of their 2005 album “15.” The band released a social media statement on Saturday announcing all band members and touring crew were uninjured in the crash.
The crash happened at approximately 2 a.m. on Friday morning, Aug. 21, at mile marker 31, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation. The crash prompted officials to shut down all eastbound lanes for several hours.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a pedestrian had previously been involved in a crash in the area. When the driver exited the car, they were hit in the roadway.
Troopers say the pedestrian died on scene.
The band said their scheduled performance at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is expected to go on as planned.

Buckcherry is on the final leg of their Roar Like Thunder tour, which was announced in April.
The tour comes after the release of their 2025 Roar Like Thunder album, the band’s 11th studio release.
The band consists of five members: Josh Todd, Stevie Dacanay, Billy Rowe, Kelly LeMieux, and Francis Ruiz.
