A man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Los Feliz was publicly identified Saturday.
The crash occurred at 8:25 a.m. last Saturday on the northbound freeway at the Los Feliz Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Toyota Corolla was northbound in the No. 4 lane when it veered into the right shoulder, according to a CHP news release.
“After veering into the right shoulder, the driver of the Toyota Corolla sedan veered across the lanes to its left impacting the concrete center divider,” according to the statement. “The driver lost control of the vehicle and impacted a Honda Pilot SUV, propelling both vehicles to the right shoulder.”
The Corolla then struck a concrete wall.
Cruz Saldana Munoz, 36, died at the scene from multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries in the freeway accident, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office said. His city of residence was not available.
Paramedics rushed another person to a hospital, the CHP stated.
It was unclear if the decedent and the person rushed to a hospital with major injuries were inside the Toyota or Honda.
