Coldplay singer Chris Martin will join Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic at Sunday evening’s benefit concert at the Hollywood Bowl to raise funds for those affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela, officials announced Sunday.
Martin joins a previously announced lineup of Beck, Eduardo Betancourt, Meme del Real of Cafe Tacvba, Adria Duque, GIVEON, Jorge Glem, Natalia Lafourcade, Lasso, Ernesto Laya, Elvis Martinez, Gregorio Nieto, Moises Torrealba, Carlos Vives and the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles.
“A Concert for Venezuela” will mark Dudamel’s final performance as music and artistic director of the LA Phil, and will raise funds for his Earthquake Recovery to Support Venezuelan Communities Fund, established in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme and the CAF Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean.
“Venezuela will always be my home, and every moment, my thoughts are with the families whose lives have been forever changed by this tragedy,” Dudamel said in July. “The suffering is immense, but so is the strength and resilience of our people. This concert at the Hollywood Bowl is an invitation to stand together and transform our compassion into action.”
Dudamel will become music and artistic director of the New York Philharmonic for the 2026-27 season.
