Four young people were shot — including a teen who died a day later — during a wild Bronx car meetup that ended in dozens of bullets fired, police sources said Monday.
The rowdy meetup, part of an alarming trend that has taken hold on social media, sparked off about 5:40 a.m. Sunday on E. 233rd St. near Boston Road in Baychester, police said.
Werling Mendez, 18, was rushed in critical condition to BronxCare Health System, where he died Monday morning from a gunshot wound to the head, cops said. He lived in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx, according to cops.
A 22-year-old man shot in the chest and a 20-year-old woman shot in the foot were taken by medics to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.
A 25-year-old woman delivering slushies shot in the left foot was also taken to BronxCare Health System.

It wasn’t clear what sparked the shooting or who was targeted. Sources said upwards of 60 shell casings were found at the scene.
A fifth victim, a 37-year-old woman, was treated at Jacobi Medical Center for minor injuries when a gunman several blocks away put a gun to her head and stole her phone and chain. The gunman fled in an Acura with two accomplices, police said.
No arrests have been made.
Car meetups have caused concern in neighborhoods around the city, with dozens of souped-up cars converging on quiet streets, where the drivers drag race and perform dangerous stunts.
The NYPD tracks meetups promoted on social media but some are organized too quickly for authorities to react.
