Taylor Fritz is one of the top ATP players attempting to disrupt the dominance of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

Fritz is the second seed at the Canadian Open this year, with just Alexander Zverev ranked higher than him in Toronto.

This is due to the fact that Sinner and Alcaraz have withdrawn from the Canadian Open, something that Fritz has been outspoken against the ATP Tour about.

Fritz has also now given his verdict on whether he still thinks he can beat the top two players on the ATP Tour.

Sinner and Alcaraz have won the last seven Grand Slams combined, and have played each other in the final of both Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

Fritz has been in a Grand Slam final during that time, losing to Sinner at the US Open last year.

Alcaraz also has a recent victory over Fritz, coming in a competitive semifinal battle at Wimbledon earlier this month.

When speaking in his pre-tournament press conference ahead of the Canadian Open, Fritz claimed that he does think Sinner and Alcaraz are beatable.

However, the American number one did admit that Sinner and Alcaraz are outperforming the rest of the ATP Tour right now.

“Yeah, I mean, obviously we had a pretty close match at Wimbledon,” said Fritz. “But, yeah, I mean, you can’t argue the fact that they’re outperforming, those two are outperforming the field, so that’s a fair thing to say.

“I think a lot of it depends on the conditions. I think in the right conditions and the right, like if the court’s decent speed, I feel they’re both beatable. I think several players, if the right conditions are met, you know, if they’re not playing their best.

“In tennis, just the way tennis is, some people, there are small margins. You win the big points, someone’s having a really good serving day, a really good day, they’re a little bit off, like they’re very beatable. If you want to tell me how beatable they are on their best day, then that’s a little bit different.

“Yeah, there’s always going to be openings, just depending on the conditions, and if someone has a really good day or a really bad day, it’s possible.”

Taylor Fritz’s Head-to-Head vs Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz

Fritz has only one win in his eight previous meetings against Sinner and Alcaraz.

That victory came against Sinner at Indian Wells in 2021, where Fritz went on to win the title.

Fritz has won just one set against Sinner since then, and has lost all three of his matches against Alcaraz.

The next opportunity Fritz will have to play against Sinner and Alcaraz will be at the Cincinnati Masters.

However, Fritz will now be looking to take advantage of their absences at the Canadian Open, where he will play his first match against Roberto Carballes Baena.
