Tyrrell Hatton responded to questions about being subdued at the LIV Golf Indianapolis trophy presentation – saying he was just eager to leave to catch a flight.
Hatton and Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII banked the $8.4m first prize for winning at LIV Golf Indianapolis, but both men were questioned about what was labelled a low-key celebration.
Both were also questioned on their thoughts about their futures, with doubt still circling about what LIV 2.0 will look like and if it will even go ahead.
Englishman Hatton, who has recently welcomed his first child into the family, says he was just eager to catch a flight, while LIV individual champion Rahm had similar thoughts of family time – and a much-needed trip to the hairdressers.
“Yeah, well, I think anytime you win is great,” said Hatton, in response to the question of being subdued on the presentation stage.
“As I said, we’ve been able to do that the last few years a number of times, and we’ve had a great time together doing it.
“I just want to get to the airport because I have a flight to catch, so that would be great.”
Hatton insisted it felt good to defend the LIV Golf team title, and has enjoyed the 2026 season on the team tour – despite it being filled with conjecture and struggle over the future.
“Obviously we’ve traveled around the world together, had some pretty funny times along the way, and as a team we’ve done incredibly well,” Hatton added. “Winning last year was very special.
“Obviously this time around it’s a little bit different, but it’s nice to defend the title anyway.”
Rahm ready for family time
Rahm had a similar answer when questioned about his immediate future, with the Spaniard looking forward to some family time, and a haircut, before returning to action at the Irish Open.
“I’m looking forward to going home and helping my very pregnant wife with the kids because it’s a 3-v-1 right now,” said Rahm.
“It’s probably a 4-v-1 with the one that’s due in October. Happy to be dad for a few days before I get back for the Irish Open, but mainly looking forward to a haircut tomorrow morning at 10am because I need one badly.”
Rahm says all the talk of LIV Golf’s future has not been affecting him on the course, despite talk of him still being owed millions on his contract.
“Not really,” he said about LIV’s future weighing on his mind. “I think the same answer applies. There’s been a lot that’s surrounded all of us for pretty much since we joined.
“At the end of the day, once we step on the golf course, it’s just golf. Everything else goes away, and we just compete. It hasn’t been any harder or easier than it was.”
