Newswise — Houston Methodist Hospital was named to U.S. News & World Report’s Honor Roll (best hospitals in the country) for the ninth time and is the No. 1 hospital in Texas, marking the 14th consecutive year at the top. This also is the 33rd year in a row that Houston Methodist Hospital was ranked in at least one specialty.

Houston Methodist Hospital is ranked in 10 specialties, with eight ranked in the top 20 and three in the top 10. Houston Methodist ranked in more specialties than any other hospital system in Houston. The ranked specialties include cancer (19); cardiology, heart and vascular surgery (14); diabetes and endocrinology (10); gastroenterology/GI surgery (7); geriatrics (19); neurology/neurosurgery (15); obstetrics and gynecology (10); orthopedics (24); pulmonology and lung surgery (8, in a tie) and urology (27).

Additionally, four Houston Methodist community hospitals were ranked statewide. Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital ranked No. 8 in Texas and No. 5 in the Houston metro area. Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital tied (three-way) for No. 9 in Texas and ranked No. 6 in the Houston metro area. Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital ranked No. 12 in Texas and No. 7 in the Houston metro area. Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital ranked No. 21 in Texas and No. 9 in the Houston metro area.
