SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A 21-year-old man is now under arrest after Bexar County authorities say his 2-month-old son suffered multiple injuries that were inconsistent with an accidental fall.
Deputies responded to a hospital Sunday, where doctors found the infant had several recent and healing fractures. According to an arrest affidavit, Aiden Jacob Rodriguez told investigators he tripped over a dumbbell while carrying the child and fell on the baby’s leg.
Medical staff determined the injuries were consistent with child abuse and did not match Rodriguez’s account, according to the affidavit.
Rodriguez was arrested on a charge of intentional injury to a child and was given a $75,000 bond.
Authorities said additional charges are being considered.
