The Dallas Wings signed guard Kitija Laksa to a rest-of-season contract on Tuesday, the team announced.
The 6-1 guard from Latvia played the 2025 season with the Phoenix Mercury where she averaged 5.9 points and 1.2 rebounds over 33 games. Laksa was selected by the Toronto Tempo in April’s expansion draft before being waived by the Tempo prior to the start of the regular season.
She was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2020 draft by the Seattle Storm, but did not play in the WNBA until 2025, electing to remain in Europe where she competed in Latvia and Italy.
Laksa attended South Florida from 2015-19, where she played for current Wings head coach Jose Fernandez.
Laksa’s availability has not been determined as the Wings work through the immigration process. She will wear No. 33.
