Evacuation orders and warnings were issued for a brush fire that grew to a few dozen acres Tuesday in Riverside County as Southern California remained in the grip of extreme heat.

The Wood Fire was burning in light grass and medium brush with a fast rate of spread in the Perris area. The fire was near Rider Street and Dreamglo Lane.

It was estimated at about 30 acres.

Evacuation orders and warnings were in effect for some areas.
