South African fitness coach Leroy Saunders, 41, died after collapsing at HYROX Bangkok on August 13, but no medical explanation for his death has been made public. His family says it is still trying to establish what happened and has asked the event organisers and media not to speculate.
Saunders lost consciousness while competing at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Event staff and medical personnel began cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, and other emergency measures before taking him to hospital, where he died.
