PHOENIX — A domestic dispute left a 60-year-old man dead after he was allegedly shot and killed by his 85-year-old father-in-law on Friday around 7:41 p.m, authorities said.

The Phoenix Fire Department pronounced Karl Derek Thau dead after he was discovered by police with a gunshot wound near the intersection of 14th Street and Topeka Drive in north Phoenix.

Robert Angelo Feola, Thau’s 85-year-old father-in-law, was detained and booked into Maricopa County Jail for murder.

Officers said Thau was unresponsive when they arrived on the scene.

Feola was taken to police headquarters for an interview and was booked into jail shortly after.

The investigation is ongoing.
