Join the celebration this Saturday, Aug. 29 🎂🥳🥳
HOUSTON – H-Town is hitting a big milestone, and it’s time to celebrate! The Heritage Society at Sam Houston Park is marking Houston’s 190th birthday with a free family day filled with history, historic house tours and plenty of birthday fun.
The city’s actual birthday is Sunday, Aug. 30, but The Heritage Society is celebrating a bit early Saturday, Aug. 29, from 1 to 5:30 p.m.
Families can explore the historic houses, take a free downtown history bus tour with Houston historian Mister McKinney and enjoy a special birthday cake celebration.

1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Step into the museum gallery and enjoy two exhibits.

1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Tour 2 historic house tours: Kellum-Noble House and Old Place

3 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. Program and cake cutting. Enjoy cake from Three Brothers Bakery and punch!

4 – 5:30 p.m Enjoy a free downtown Houston History Bus tour of Downtown by Mister McKinney of Mister McKinney’s Historic Houston. First come, first served.
