Gotterup burst onto the scene in July last year, winning the Genesis Scottish Open after holding off Rory McIlroy and Wyndham Clark.
Ever since then, the 27-year-old has been one of the best golfers in the world.
Chris Gotterup has won three times on the PGA Tour this season, and he has now reached a level where he is capable of winning any tournament he enters.
Gotterup is different from every other player at the highest level of the game, given his incredibly unique setup and swing.

And that is one reason why he is so popular with the everyday golf fan.
Gotterup was pushing hard to make the Ryder Cup last year, but he didn’t quite make the team in the end.
The five-time PGA Tour winner is desperate to make up for that by forcing his way onto the Presidents Cup team this year.
Chris Gotterup says whether he would’ve picked himself for the US Ryder Cup
Gotterup spoke to reporters after shooting a six-under 64 at the Tour Championship on Thursday.
He was asked about the pressure of trying to make the Presidents Cup team this year compared to last year when he was in the mix for Ryder Cup selection.
“I think having last year helped for this year just knowing that like you’re never kind of safe,“ Gotterup replied.

“I think last year I was like, all right, I’m in a good spot. Not that I ever thought I was going to be on the team until the end of the year, but I really didn’t play well in the playoffs and probably wouldn’t have picked myself if I was the captain.
“I feel like this year I’ve been just trying to focus on my game and not make anything bigger than what it is. Obviously I think my playoffs have been pretty good so far, especially compared to last year. If I can keep that up, I should be in good shape hopefully.“
Keegan Bradley decided against picking Gotterup in the end, and that seems like a massive mistake.
The five-time PGA Tour winner’s game would have been ideally suited to Bethpage Black, and he seems like the kind of character who would have thrived under the Ryder Cup pressure.

The 27-year-old was asked by one reporter on Thursday what part of his game he believes is stronger this year than it was in 2025.
“I feel like my putting has gotten a lot better this year,“ Gotterup admitted.
“I’ve driven the ball nice this year. Last year I started off driving it poorly and then started driving it nice at the end of the year.
“I feel like just little things like wedges I’ve gotten better, but I still have room to improve for sure.
“Just par-5 scoring, I’ve added clubs that maybe give me more versatility that I didn’t have before.
“All that said, I think when I get my stats report at the end of the year, I’ll still have plenty of stuff to work on.“
