PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Another warm start to our morning with temperatures in the lower 90s; we have one more First Alert day because of the heat for today.
We also have a First Alert Weather Day coming on Sunday and Monday, not because of the heat — because we have a chance of storms in the forecast.
The ridge of high pressure that brought us very hot temperatures is sliding further to the east. With the movement of that ridge, it will pull in some monsoonal moisture from down south.
With the chance of storms and cloud cover, we will see a nice drop in temperatures as well. The high on Sunday will be near average; on Monday, we will see a high temperature around 102 degrees.
Later in the week, drier air is expected to push in Tuesday through Friday, and temperatures will gradually warm up. It looks like highs will stay below 110 degrees over the workweek as well.
