Oscar-winning former Disney animator and Paradise Valley resident Glen Keane thanked local rescue crews for rescuing him from Mummy Mountain last month with a drawing to hang in a Phoenix Fire station.

Firefighters were dispatched to Mummy Mountain around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29 after receiving reports of a hiker experiencing a medical emergency, according to a Phoenix Fire Department press release.

Crews located Keane near the summit, where he said he was feeling ill and unable to continue his descent.
