A massive fire broke out overnight in Dallas County, prompting what deputies said was a major response involving several crews.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office shared photos of the blaze on Facebook around 10 p.m. Deputies said it occurred in the 200 block of Burns Drive in the Sand Branch area.
It wasn’t clear which fire department was the lead agency, though the sheriff’s office noted multiple departments responded to battle the blaze.
Officials later told CBS News Texas the fire started around 9:30 p.m. and that crews were expected to be on the scene for a few more hours Sunday morning. Tires, RVs, and construction materials were burned, while nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution. Officials noted everyone got back home and no injuries were reported.
Crews also noted the area doesn’t have fire hydrants, so crews had to haul water in.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
