After a viral incident over the last week in which a man was allegedly posing as an San Francisco 49ers player to scam others out of money, another alleged scammer pretending to be a Dallas Cowboys player has been discovered.
Uras Agee IV, listed on the 2017 roster for Division II program Shorter University, has been allegedly faking an NFL career that included fictitious stints with the Cowboys, Buccaneers and Steelers, even referring to himself in his social media bio as a Super Bowl LV winner (which would be the 2021 Super Bowl in which the Bucs routed the Chiefs.).
It’s not yet clear how much, if any, money was made off this alleged scheme, but there is a profile depicting Agee on a website in which people can pay $240 for a social media deal with Agee, $600 for brand ambassador deals or $3,000 for appearance fees.
Old social media posts have emerged that include pictures of Agee at public appearances. One post in 2023 showed Agee, wearing Cowboys gear, signing footballs for a donation drive at Ryze Wellness & MedSpa in Tampa.
“Thank you for coming through for the kids of the Tampa Bay [area] Uras Agee,” the post said. “You are going to make a child very happy with this autographed football.”
In a now-deleted tweet, another youth football coach from Chattanooga, Tenn. tweeted at Agee in 2022, thanking him for speaking to his team and sharing “his story and words of wisdom.” Agee also had several workout videos and highlight videos on YouTube that showcased him exercising in team gear, showing off expensive jewelry and more.
One social media post even included a graphic saying Agee had signed with rapper Jay-Z’s major agency Roc Nation in which Agee was wearing Cowboys gear.
As of Sunday, Agee has not been charged criminally.
