What a tool!
A grinning attacker struck a fellow subway rider with a garden tool during an argument on a Lower Manhattan train, cops said Sunday.
The assailant was toting the garden tool — it’s not clear what kind exactly — with a long handle when he came upon the 49-year-old victim aboard an uptown train on the A and C line near the Fulton St. stop about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9, cops said.
The two men didn’t know each other but got into an argument, police said. As the quarrel escalated, the attacker swung his tool, hitting the victim in the hand and legs, then fled the train, cops said.
The victim, who suffered minor injuries, refused medical attention.
Police released photos of the suspect on Sunday, including one showing him beaming a wide grin as he gripped the long handle of the garden tool with both hands.
He’s described as being about 30 and 6-feet with a dark complexion and athletic build, short black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black tank top, black pants, a blue baseball cap and a silver necklace.
