Police are searching for a mother after the body of a newborn baby was found in a bin in Sydney’s west.
Emergency services were called Harrow Road, Auburn, at 11:20am on Monday after reports the baby was found in a garbage bin.

NSW Police said officers have set up a crime scene and urged the baby’s mother to come forward.
“As investigations continue, police hold serious concerns for the welfare of the baby’s mother,” police said in a statement.
“Officers are urging the mother to attend her nearest hospital to receive urgent care for herself.”

Police are expected to provide more information later this afternoon.
