After yet another summery day, we’ve got another similar day Wednesday before new weather changes arrive next.
Before getting to the forecast for that period, we’ve got a good chance to see two meteor showers late Tuesday night!
Here are the details about when & where to look:
The good news is that we should have a relatively mostly clear sky with just a chance for some thin high clouds between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM Wednesday.
Another viewing positive is there will be zero moonlight to interfere with seeing any meteor showers during this time period because the moon sets at 10:45 PM Monday.
While the Southern Delta Aquariids and the Alpha Capricornids are relatively unknown and much smaller than other meteor showers like the Perseids or the Orionids, we all have a chance to see them!
Make sure you go outside in a very dark area with as close as zero ambient light and your odds of seeing some go up dramatically.
Plus, you should also allow up to 30 minutes of time for your eyes to adjust to the darkness!
If you are able to take pictures and/or videos of these meteor showers, we would love to show yours on-air and/or online! Click here to submit your pictures and videos!
Now that you know what to expect with the meteor shower, let’s quickly talk about the forecast afterwards.
Here are our next weather makers:
Wednesday will feel very similar to Tuesday temperature-wise. There is a weak front that will push through our area. This will give a slight chance for a widely isolated, hit or miss style passing shower or thundershower at some point. Not everyone will see this. Plus, those that do, should still have plenty of rain-free period.
The biggest uncertainty in our forecast is Thursday and Thursday night. Our computer models still do not agree on whether or not it will be overcast all day with a risk for either a bit of light rain or possibly even a steadier rain for a large chunk of the day.
I am forecasting a rather cloudy Thursday with at least some rain over our area. We will be tracking this next system to see how much wet weather and cloud cover (if any) ends up being over Central New York.
Thereafter, the weather looks nearly perfect for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, assuming nothing changes.
