CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that repairs by BNSF to the railroad crossing on Tilden Avenue between Burlington and Shawmut avenues, in La Grange, will require a full closure, weather permitting, from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.
A detour will direct the public to Cossitt Avenue, U.S. 45(LaGrange Road) and 31st Street.
The public should expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to detour signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
