SAN ANTONIO – As students head back to school, some parents have reported frustration about wait times in the pick-up and drop-off lines.
Cesar Pessoa, a parent at SST Alamo, reached out to KSAT 12 after waiting more than an hour to pick up his child.
Traffic at the intersection of North Weidner Road and Interstate 35 has slowed due to construction on the highway.
SST Alamo denied KSAT’s request for comment, but in a letter to parents, said they are attempting to communicate with the Texas Department of Transportation.
Pessoa said traffic improved with the addition of officials directing traffic at the intersection, but said the line is still too long.
KSAT also received complaints about traffic at the new Juan Alvarado Elementary School in Von Ormy.
We reached out to Southwest ISD, which said the traffic was “typical” for the first day, as parents and staff learned the new campus.
A district spokesperson said improvements have been made, and no student has been late because of traffic.
