The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the suspect fled the area in a dark-colored vehicle.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was shot and killed in a parking lot on the city’s Southside Tuesday night.
JSO said officers responded to the 3400 block of Saland Way regarding a person shot around 8:42 p.m. When they arrived, officers found a man in a parking lot.
JSO said members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead.

Based on preliminary interviews, the sheriff’s office said the man was seen in the parking lot with an unknown person minutes before shots were fired. Witnesses reported hearing arguing, followed by multiple gunshots.
After the shooting, JSO said the suspect left the area in a dark-colored vehicle. The relationship between the victim and suspect is unknown at this time, according to JSO.
“We believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing danger to the public,” JSO said. “Multiple witnesses have been detained, and they are cooperating with the investigation.”
