Arizona Musicfest and the Herberger Theater Center will team up to present “Man of La Mancha” for four performances Oct. 23-25 at the Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe St., in downtown Phoenix. Shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23; 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25.

Written by Dale Wasserman, with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion, the musical is inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote and follows its central character’s pursuit of honor, hope and an impossible dream. The original Broadway production won the 1966 Tony Award for best musical, while its score includes “The Impossible Dream (The Quest),” “Dulcinea” and “I, Don Quixote.”
